Geneva 2006: Volkswagen GX3

Volkswagen first showed its GX3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The GX3 is a completely new kind of crossover between a sports car and motorcycle that is intended for the U.S. market. It has two seats and is currently on display in Detroit. The GX3 was conceived in cooperation between the Moonraker team and the VW Design Center in California. The three-wheel vehicle, which is initially only a study, weighs 570 kg (1254 lbs.), accelerates from 0 to 60 in 5.7 sec. and ought to get around 48 MPG. Volkswagen is quoting a price of less than $17,000 for the GX3.
